(Read this first!!!)
To add to this project you're about to read I have also put together a group of traditional and cultural Aymaran songs and videos that un fotunatley couldn't be put on this website due to the fact that I have a free school acount and to put videos and audio on a weebly website you would have to pay. Although these cannot be on the website I still really wanted to include it in my information and so I have saved these in the following folder: Curriculum/2012/yr.7/7 Callistemon/Emilka Rustecka/Aymara. I hope you enjoy my website. Thanks.
Aymara
Hello fellow readers,
My name is Nina and I am from South America.
Here you find out many things about my culture and it's customs and beliefs. I have created this website with information passed down from my ancestors and colleagues this also includes my own personal diary inwhich I describe how my culture used to be like and how it is now in the year of 2012. I have also included some of my grandfathers stories that he used to tell when we had family get togethers. These will explain how he used to live many years ago.
The name Nina (N-IY-NA) means “fire which will never be extinguished” and it is a American name from Peru.
My cultural name is Aymara, I was born in Peru. The name Aymara means nature and the desire to associate in friendship. So called Indians we are actually native Americans. Many people believe we are different from the rest because most of us live under tents or small shelters, that is not true we are just the same as anyone else and we indeed have proper house, just of less quality, tents were only lived in many years ago.
